Printz Award Speculation

School Library Journal’s Jonathan Hunt offers some of his picks for potential Printz award winners.

I’ve only read one of the books he’s listed — Franny Billingsley’s Chime ( and if reading that four times in the past three months isn’t any indication of how much I loved it, I don’t know what is), but I’ve heard excellent things about Blink & Caution by Tim Wynne- Jones and Laini Taylor’s Daughter of Smoke & Bone sounds quite good (it will be released later in September).  I guess I’ve got some reading to do.

Have you read any young adult books published this year that you think are worthy of this prize?
